Our Ice River Sustainable Solutions facility in **Shelburne, On** is looking for a **Quality Assurance** **Technician** who will be responsible for ensuring that the plant conforms to quality guidelines as designated by the corporate Quality/Sanitation department. A QA Technician ensures all quality procedures for finished product and raw materials are followed by all plant personnel, issue corrective actions if required, and assist with sanitation as required and assigned.

**Key Activities/ Responsibilities**:
- Micro Analysis - Collect various daily samples and perform microbial analysis on each sample daily. All results are recorded in the appropriate log books. Report all non-conformances for corrective action to QA Manager and take appropriate actions to resolve.
- Investigate customer complaints as required and determine the cause of all contamination problems that result from microbial analysis.
- Testing and Verification of results - Water Testing - Test for TDS, turbidity, pH, water temperature, ozone, weight and any special customer testing request.
- Calibrate Equipment - Calibrate all testing equipment at required schedule
- Ensure ozone settings and ozone records are complete and accurate
- Audits - Participate in various facility audits with the QA Manager. Ensure all finished product and raw materials are within specification. Ensure all GMP's and HACCP procedures are followed.
- General Administration: Prepare corrective action reports. Ensure all Quality and Sanitation records are up to date and filed correctly. General filing, data entry and other various office type tasks.
- Train machine operators on Quality standards and applicable procedures, ensure enforcement of procedures and policies.
- Daily sanitation of filler room and weekly sanitation of the production line and ozone tower as per set specifications and work orders.
- Responsible for all chemicals in the facility, the ordering of, inventory lists and assisting in the training of employees on uses.
- Coordinate all Quality IRO requirements as per the Quality Pillar corporate standards. Communicate Quality Pillar Book sections to staff ensuring all standards for Quality Assurance are understood and implemented. Report progress to, QA Supervisor, Plant Manager and Corporate Quality Assurance.
- Prepare product water according to customer specification and ensure that all analysis are within mineral specification.
- Responsible for all equipment functions involving the preparation and flow of product water to each production line.
- Work on production equipment and lines when needed as a relief for the operators.
**Required Competencies**
- Functional Technical Skills: 2 years Previous Quality/Sanitation experience in a food processing atmosphere. Working knowledge of office automation tools including Excel, Word, Power Point as well as computerized equipment to perform QA analysis**.**:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, able to crouch ,bend and kneel, as well as capable of heavy lifting and carrying.
- **Reliable transportation is required** (no public transit)
