Full-time Supply Staff

**Position Summary**: The Full-time Supply Staff will demonstrate competence and dedication to the care and education of young children by providing coverage during the absence of an employee. All aspects of the Full-time Supply Staff position will be performed while working within the framework of the vision, mission and value statements and the policies and procedures of Milestones Children’s Centre, the _Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice_, the _Child Care_ _and Early Years Act, 2014_, the _Child Care Centre Licensing Manual _and _How _Does _Learning Happen?_.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Milestones Children's Centre Policies and Procedures and the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014
- Work as part of a team and share responsibilities with others
- Sharing responsibilities and assisting in the smooth operation of the daily routines through supporting all programs, both Centre and on-site Before & After School, and/or kitchen in a supply capacity
- Assist in the implementation of program plans which are developmentally appropriate and inclusive of all children based on direct observation of how the children are interacting with their environment
- Implement a variety of positive and consistent approaches towards behaviour guidance which are consistent with the policies, practices and philosophy of Milestones Children's Centre
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the position through attendance, punctuality and enthusiasm for work

**Basic Requirements**:

- minimum 18 years of age
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or enrolled in and actively attending an Early Childhood Education Program
- Registered in good standing with the College of ECEs, if holding an ECE diploma
- experience working for at least one year in the field of early childhood education
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Criminal Reference Check (vulnerable sector) within the last 6 months
- up-to-date immunizations (tetanus & MMR)

**Start Date**:ASAP. This is a new position for this location and is currently vacant.

**Hours**:Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day (plus a 1-hour unpaid lunch break). Must be available between the hours of 6:30am and 6pm.

**Additional Hours**: one after hours staff meeting per month

**Wage**:Minimum starting rate for RECE's in this position is $24.41/hour (inclusive of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care wage enhancement) plus $2.08/hour of provincial wage enhancement. The minimum starting rate for those who are non-RECE's but actively attending courses to obtain their ECE diploma is $20.97/hour (inclusive of a community funded wage enhancement) plus $2.08/hour of provincial wage enhancement. Starting rate is determined based on education and experience.
- Note: meetings, Professional Learning time, and orientation are not eligible for the provincial wage enhancement._
