Role and Responsibilities As part of D&S CAE Canada Strategy & Business Development (S&BD) team, the Capture Manager (CM) is responsible for managing the pursue to award activities of large strategic pursuits. These opportunities vary from large turn-key training services and/or integrated training solutions to developing new domain expertise and partnering strategies. **The role we are offering you**: The Capture Manager role is part of the Lead to Award (L2A) business development process. Together with the regional Business Development (BD) Manager, they are both ultimately responsible and accountable to develop and win a specific opportunity for CAE Canada by providing the required leadership and innovative thinking, while following the established L2A gates & corporate governance process. The CM leads a complete solution definition, execution strategy and coordination service to the regional BD Manager by forming a close-knit tag-team that interfaces directly with the customer and business partners to provide the required depth and breadth that demonstrates credibility and provides added-value throughout the capture and proposal phases, up to contract award. The CM and BM manager are ultimately responsible for achieving significant order intake for strategic major opportunities. Typically focused on 1 or 2 very large strategic opportunities, engaging clients / partners / Governments and Defence Forces, to lead and develop the Capture Management Strategy. Communicate and execute disciplined Capture Management Plan including Price to Win, win themes & strategy, competitive analysis, and drive multi-disciplined capture teams. Critical leadership position responsible for the development and execution of assigned large opportunity strategies and capture/pursuit plans. Provide leadership and advice to solutions teams, execution teams, commercial teams and required subcontractors on the key strategies, win themes, competitive analysis, and other required documentation. Develop Pursue/No Pursue and Bid/No Bid governance information and executes CAE governance requirements as defined by policy. Shape client and market perspectives regarding CAE capability successfully. Manage highest-level relationships in opportunity target organizations and CAE executive engagements. Accountable for budget/expenses associated with approved pursuits and capture strategy. Provide executive/management and engineering disciplines with visibility into key captures. Bachelor degree in engineering/sciences or administration or equivalent background and experience. Minimum 10 years in Aerospace and Defence Industry, ideally having experience in Proposal management and/or Capture management for major capital acquisitions. Previous project execution and delivery experience is a definite asset to foresee and identify potential pitfalls and risks. Background or solid understanding of Flight Simulation, Military Training Systems, Government Procurement mechanisms and Program execution at various levels. Demonstrated ability to lead effectively within large Defence industry or within a national defence organization. Good people management skills and previous experience in leading multi-disciplinary project teams. Driven, motivated, positive, high energy with outstanding influencing and negotiation skills. Strong skills in strategic partnering, teaming agreements and subcontract positioning. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills in English and French. Canadian Air Force experience highly desirable **Fighter pilot experience such as**: CF-18/F-18, F-35, F-22, F-15, F-16, Typhoon highly desirable **SPECIAL FEATURES**: The role involves travel, across Canada region, which could be at short notice. International travel required.
