We have grown from one standalone Gas Bar in downtown Winnipeg to an ever-expanding co-operative with 49 gas bar locations, 23 car washes, six cardlocks, nine food stores, two standalone pharmacies and an oil supply centre. Our fleet of trucks are on the road delivering fuel to farm and commercial accounts in Manitoba and northwestern Ontario.

**The Opportunity**:
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Be a liaison and public relations representative for the Co-op within the communities we serve;
- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and training to the accounting department to ensure that they meet finance department’s operational goals;
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of interim and year-end financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles;
- Provide analysis on financial results including trends, performance metrics and benchmarking;
- Design, implement and evaluate internal financial controls and policies with a proactive focus on business risks to ensure compliance with accounting and taxation requirements;
- Coordinate the year-end audit process including the review and/or preparation of working papers, schedules, analysis and other documentation that is required;
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements by understanding existing and new legislation, adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising senior management on needed actions;
- Responsible for hiring, developing and providing timely feedback to staff;
- Assist the Senior Director, Finance with the annual budget process;
- Work closely with the Senior Director, Finance to identify, design and implement change management initiatives within the co-operative with the goal of driving efficiencies within the business;
- Assist with special projects related to continuous improvement and process improvements to the organization for further efficiency growth;
- Perform other accounting and administration duties as required.
**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA);
- Minimum 5 years of progressive and relevant accounting experience, preferable in a fast-paced environment;
- Minimum 2 years of management experience, with well-developed coaching and leadership skills, both on a formal and informal basis;
- Experience working with JD Ewards would be considered an asset;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail;
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently;
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of individuals in a wide range of situations.
