**About the Company**: Garry Machine Mfg. Inc., established in 1980, is a leading manufacturer of high-quality rollers, serving the plastics, paper, and printing industries for over 20 years. Our 40,000 sq. ft. facility is equipped with five overhead cranes to streamline production. With sole ownership, we ensure each customer receives personal attention from the president and benefits from single-source responsibility. We also specialize in precision machining of small, medium, and heavy components, along with custom machinery design and manufacturing.
**Job Summary**:
The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products meet required specifications and standards. This role involves conducting visual and measurement tests, documenting inspection results, and collaborating with production and management teams to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. The Quality Control Inspector will also play a key role in maintaining calibration, preparing ISO documentation, and managing non-conformance issues.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Confirm specifications for incoming materials through visual and measurement tests.
- Reject and return materials that do not meet required specifications.
- Confirm specifications during production by conducting visual and measurement tests.
- Communicate required adjustments to the president or production supervisor when necessary.
- Confirm specifications of finished products through visual and measurement tests.
- Return non-conforming products for re-work and confirm that re-work is completed correctly.
- Complete reports and logs summarizing inspection results, re-work, and waste.
- Input data into the quality database for tracking and analysis.
- Conduct first-part quality inspections for in-house parts manufactured on the CNC after each operation.
- Monitor and ensure that process specifications are met for all assembly line operations.
- Develop control documents for parts and process specifications and tolerances checked by quality.
- Generate NCRs for non-conforming incoming parts from suppliers.
- Calibrate production instruments and quality tools to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Create detailed inspection reports for all relevant products and processes.
- Prepare documentation for ISO certification and ensure compliance with ISO and quality standards.
- Generate First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for new parts and processes.
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for SRED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development) claims.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support quality control and production goals.
**Required Qualifications**:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Additional education in quality control, engineering, or related fields is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with high-precision measuring tools such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, and slip gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate inspections and measurements.
- Knowledge of quality control methodologies and standards.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Quality certification (e.g., ASQ, ISO) will be considered an asset.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Capable of handling materials and tools used in quality control testing.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
