**Bargaining Unit: NON-UNION** **Status: Full Time** **Department: Building Services** **Site: St. Joseph's Hospital** **Shifts: Days** **Annual Salary: $96,146 - $120,182** Reporting to the Director Building Services, the Manager - Building Services is responsible for coordinating inspections, maintenance, and repair services for all related equipment for assigned sites. **Qualifications**: **Education/Experience**: - Degree or diploma in a related field - Post secondary degree or diploma in engineering, engineering or construction technology, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to Facilities Management - Membership in an affiliated professional association relating to the work requirements or ability to obtain (e.g. OACETT, PEO, CHES) - Minimum of five years' experience in a managerial or supervisor capacity in institutional or commercial maintenance, preferably in a unionized environment - Knowledge of evidence-based practices relating to maintenance - Proven experience in current and active Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) as per the regulations of the Building Code Act - Experience in the management of capital projects and facility or equipment upgrades with knowledge of construction methods, documentation processes, and related legislation - Knowledge of and ability to interpret applicable legislation and related regulations, codes, and standards (Building Code Act, etc.) **Skills/Abilities**: - Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements - Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing, including the ability to issue clearly understandable written and oral instructions - Ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers, contractors, consultants, officials shareholders and staff - Excellent project/time management, with proven ability to effectively coordinate a number of projects simultaneously - Excellent analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills - Proven acumen in business and financial management, with the ability to improve departmental effectiveness and efficiency through the management and utilization of human, financial, and physical resources - Strong leadership skills, including the ability to direct, motivate, evaluate, and recognize staff; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others - Proven conflict management abilities and mediation skills - Proficiency with office computer equipment and software. Proficient computer skills for accessing information, updating preventative maintenance program and/or equipment troubleshooting - Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as amended **Assets**: - One or more indentured apprenticeships in the building trades - Proficiency with Cad drawing systems and Project Scheduling software - Facility Management and/or project management credentials (i.e. FMA or PMP) **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT** Ability to travel to various work locations as required and provide own transportation Must be available for "on call" requests after regular working hours This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions. **_St. Joseph's Care Group is committed to providing high quality client-centred care by building a respectful and inclusive workforce that reflects the diverse population it serves.
