In this newly created position, the General Manager will be a key leader within the Senior Leadership Team partnering to achieve organizational priorities and goals. Reporting to the President, the General Manager is responsible for executing strategy in support of the overall business plan by overseeing and executing the day-to-day operating activities including revenue/sales growth and financial management at the strategic direction of the President.
The General Manager demonstrates strong leadership to ensure there is a safety first and positive working climate while utilizing methodologies to improve efficiency and quality in services delivered by DKI Barclay Restorations.
**Responsibilities**:
- Promote and practice cross-functional operations and foster a culture of collective leadership
- Provide strong team leadership and a collaborative approach to working with the senior leadership team
- Establish short / long-term strategic plan and budget in collaboration with the Sr. Leadership team
- Plan, organize, lead, and manage the requirements of the overall strategic plan including cascading and communicating the plan to ensure all employees understand the requirements and their roles and responsibilities within the plan
- Responsible to work with internal operations to achieve budgeted results and other established financial criteria
- Prepare, monitor, analyze and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a regular basis
- Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization
- Responsible for the recruitment, development and succession planning of employees
- Review and communicate performance against documented organization standards
- Ensure projects are completed on time and budget, aligning resources to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity
- Develop employees through measuring and documenting performance, coaching and required technical training
- Oversee the development and implementation of procedures, systems and controls, to promote communication and adequate information flow
- Communicate internally and with external clients and vendor partners
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and monitor receivables
- Commit to a diverse, culturally competent, and culturally safe work environment and representative workforce
**Qualifications & Competencies**:
- 10 years experience in restoration project/branch management with full P&L responsibility, preferably in a related occupation/industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management practices and budgetary processes
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Construction and Property Claims Process, including estimating using estimating software and knowledge of Insurer service expectations
- Considerable experience working and managing in a continuous changing environment
- Experience and understanding of tools, technology and products required to operate successfully in the Restoration market
- Proven ability to build productive relationships as well as strategic partnerships, both externally and internally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to influence others
- Demonstrated track record of improving customer experience metrics scores
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive in identifying and implementing solutions
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced and demanding environment
- Ability to problem solve and remove barriers to creatively provide solutions that meet the needs of all parties in the best collective manner possible
- Review data, interpret trends and recommend successful solutions
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities in an effective manner
- Proven track record of building teams, working genuinely with others and fostering culture
- Demonstrated record of successful performance management and talent development
- Able to work a flexible schedule and be available when required
