We are currently seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join our team. Reporting to the Partner in charge of the Real Estate Department, the Real Estate Paralegal is primarily supporting the efforts of the Real Estate department and related lawyers at the organization, assisting with the completion of residential real estate transactions.

**Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following**:

- Performing due diligence for real estate transactions.
- Drafting leases, purchase contracts, easements, deeds, trust letters, and other real property and conveyancing related documents.
- Requesting and processing mortgage advances, stage payments, and file payouts for residential, commercial, and builders’ mortgages.
- Reviewing and understanding title work and surveys.
- Coordinating and preparing documents for transaction closings.
- Requesting various searches: tax, title, company, and Personal Property Registry.
- Reviewing documents and files prepared by legal assistants in the department.
- Corresponding with clients, solicitors, mortgage brokers, and real estate agents.

**Employment Requirements**
- Paralegal or Legal Assistant certificate or diploma from a recognized institution.
- 5+ years experience as a Real Estate Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal laws and terminology.
- Experience with drafting legal documents.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to liaise and maintain positive working relationships with lawyers, clients and external clients.
- Strong computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle several time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
