Assistant General Manager

**Position Summary**:
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation. The Assistant General Manager will also support the General Manager with leading and coaching team members to provide an exceptional experience for our patrons, while maintaining service standards.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work alongside the General Manager to manage and troubleshoot all business aspects of Four Fathers Brewing Company.
- Assist the General Manager with driving initiatives that support the success of the Four Fathers Brewing Company team, while demonstrating and upholding core values.
- Provide an extraordinary customer experience and participating in any tasks to provide good service to customers. Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
- Oversee scheduling, monitor day-to-day staffing levels, and effectively manage labor.
- Assist with the preparation of all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
- Assist the General Manager with financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties.
- Respond to escalated complaints, taking appropriate action, and generating return guests.
- Plan, implement, track, and adjust action plans and reports to achieve objectives and actively participate in meetings, conference calls and information sharing.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
- Oversee managers and senior staff in the training and development of new and current employees.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Four Father’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, directing work and appraising performance.
- Coach team members to leverage their strengths and support their ongoing development to achieve the organization’s deliverables and achieve personal desired behaviours and career goals.
- In collaboration with HR services, resolve employee complaints and develop performance improvement plans where needed.
- Be knowledgeable of policies regarding personnel and assist with administering prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
- Assist the General Manager with ad hoc tasks and/or special assignments as requested.
- Ensure compliance with Four Fathers policies and procedures including participation in on-going job-related training.
- All other duties as required.
**Job Requirements**:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college education preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ management experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of front of house and back of house operations, including food, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, food safety, service techniques, and guest interaction.
- Understanding and passion for the craft beer market.
- Ability to provide management level coaching and guidance on performance management, career development, and employee relations issues, development, and staff planning.
- Down-to-earth communication skills with a genuine presence.
- Customer focused and dedicated to exceeding the expectations of internal and external relationships.
- Strong people management skills.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and energy.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
**Experience**:
- Hospitality: 2 years (preferred)
- Management: 2 years (required)
