Côté Gold is being developed in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.
The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.
**Accessing Opportunities at Côté Gold**
**SUPPORT DRILL OPERATOR**
The Support Drill Operator** **is responsible for operating an Epiroc D65 Smartroc support drill.
**Key Responsibilities**
Area 1:
Autonomous drilling operational efficiency.
- Deliver the drilling schedule in accordance with the integrated plan.
- Work with team members in the field to reduce variance and exploit opportunities.
- Monitor compliance with control operational benchmarks and identify operational variations and opportunities.
- Investigate root cause for production short falls and deviations from plan.
- Maximize equipment productivity and efficiency by providing accurate and timely reporting of maintenance issues.
- Evaluate the data accuracy and integrity in the system.
- Interact with the system to monitor and record operation of equipment statuses.
- Minimize shift delays and normal maintenance delays (fueling, drill string changes etc.)

Area 2:
Operational excellence.
- Seek opportunities to improve production drill fleet operations.
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
- Continually seek to improve your skills as an Autonomous Drill Fleet Controller.
- Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
- Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).

Area 3:
Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.
- Provide leadership and direction to the various equipment operators and stakeholders to ensure that the business and mine plan objectives are met.
- Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Participate and lend your expertise to the team.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
- Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
- Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.

Area 4:
Specific equipment to be operated:

- Epiroc D65 SmartRoc multi pass DTH support drill
- Down the hole (DTH) support hole drilling, hole sizes 6 1/2” - 8”.
- Articulated boom
- Multi Rod Carrousel
- Automatic Drill V2

**Qualifications**:

Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves*
minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- Grade 12 or equivalent.

Work experience - Nature & Length
- 3 or more years of experience operating manual, remote and/or autonomous drilling rigs in an open pit mining environment.

Additional qualifications - Competency requirements
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Sound knowledge of open pit mining fundamentals
- Practical and hands on experience with open pit support, pre-sheer, pre-split drilling.
- Master Driller training is considered an asset.
