Quality Control Inspector

CIMS Limited Partnership, is seeking **a self-motivated, team player with the ability to identify quality issues accurately while **maintaining high quality standards**to fill the role of **_Quality Control Inspector._**

In the position of **_Quality Control Inspector_**_, _**you will be responsible for quality control assistance and direction to supervisors in the performance of inspections, tests and completion of documentation covering welding, mechanical, rotating equipment, electrical and instrumentation disciplines. This position also tests and samples raw materials and incoming products to ensure compliance with company standards. Quality Control will perform spot checks and other quality audits to ensure procedures and practices are being followed and will participate in final inspections as well as the coordination and supervision of all non-destructive examinations.

**_You will be accountable for: _**
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing raw and fabricated materials meet quality standards. Ensure that appropriate ID and job numbers are marked on each piece of material and such information is transferred to individual pieces before cutting. Prepare isometric weld maps to track welds on the piping system and issue to the shop for fabrication.
- Perform receiving inspection and review of material test reports (MTR’s) of each job and assign steel ID number and enter into the material receiving log.
- Carry out welding and dimensional inspections and monitor NDE activities in compliance with specifications. Arrange for NDE for completed weld as per ITP.
- Monitor welding NDE percentages, welder rejection rate and non-conformance status and bring to the attention of supervisors any potential non-conformity with recommendations for corrective action.
- In the event non-conformity is noted, prepare and circulate the N.C.R. detailing the nature of non-conformance and disposition, with recommendations for the prevention of recurrence.
- Maintain a log of Non-Conformances listing final disposition and acceptance.
- Ensure all QC/QA documentation is complete.
- Ensures internal and external customer needs are supported.
- Review the scope of work, specifications, engineering drawings and isometrics, project specifications, vendor/ manufacturer specifications and instructions, and client procedures, and ensure that the field personnel are working with the latest approved revisions.
- Compile QA/QC turnover packages, scan the final package to the server and submit original package to Client Inspector.
- For new welders, review their welder qualification cars, assign a new welder ID, and update the welder qualification log. Maintain a copy of qualifications on file.
- Prepare an Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), review applicable welding procedure specifications (WPS) and forward to client QA for review/approval.
- Conduct surveillance on performance of welders in compliance with client quality program and WPS such as checking WPS parameters including preheat, filler metals.
- Other duties as required.

**_Working conditions_** you can expect while performing your role includes:

- May be required to work in a well-ventilated office environment with adequate lighting and temperature and/or customer sites, supplier premises and other facilities.
- Standard equipment found in a fabrication shop will be used such as welders, power tools, hand tools etc.
- May be required to work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- May be required to work outside of normal work hours on occasion to meet deadlines.
- Work requires repetitive movement and lifting, frequent standing and walking are required.
- Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
