**How You Will Make an Impact**

The gender-based violence program offers an array of supports and services to individuals who have experienced violence. The Gender Based Violence (GBV) Program Facilitator is an integral member of an integrated team that provides psychoeducational counselling and group programming to cis women, trans, non-binary and gender diverse adults.

The GBV Program Facilitator will work individually with clients to establish a counselling plan tailored to each person's unique goals. Participation and planning of internal and external public education events and evening programming is essential to supporting the community, and important function of the GBV program facilitator role.

The Gender Based Violence Program Facilitator will provide evidence based, culturally competent individual counselling and group program facilitation.

Within your role you will provide safety assessments, safety planning, crisis intervention, and service co-ordination.

Working within the Community Support Services team you will support clients and their children to move forward to a life free of violence.

**What You'll Bring to Our Team**
- Completion of a post-secondary education in a social service-related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience within the gender-based violence sector. A minimum of one year delivering therapeutic counselling.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of issues related to gender-based violence, trauma, trauma informed practice, homelessness, mental health and harm reduction.
- Demonstrate skill and experience with psychoeducational counselling techniques including but not limited to: emotional autonomy, effective communication, self-awareness, cognitive autonomy and grounding.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in safety assessments, safety planning, power and control, healthy relationships and the cycle of abuse.
- Demonstrated effective communication, advocacy and rapport building skills.
- CPR/First Aid is required
- A valid Ontario driver's license (G) and ability to drive Good Shepherd vehicles is required
- Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset
