**Responsibilities **(includes but not limited to)**:
¨ Engage meaningfully with children to support their learning and emotional development

¨ Maintain, clean and organize an inspirational learning environment

¨ Collaborate professionally in a supportive and lively environment

¨ Develop an emergent program plan that meets the physical, intellectual, cognitive and emotional needs of the children. This program MUST be based on the ELECT framework by using observations of the children and geared towards their interests. The program plan must be posted once it is approved by the supervisor.

¨ Maintain ongoing written observations of the children.

¨ Ensure Toronto Children’s Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement is being followed thoroughly and consistently.

¨ Provide daily records of children’s attendance, activities and injuries.

¨ Follow all health guidelines specified by Public Health and the Day Nurseries Act.

¨ To attend monthly staff meetings as scheduled

¨ Maintain your learning environment, keeping it clean, organized and keep all furnishings in good repair.

¨ Model positive adult/child relationships

¨ Ensure children’s safety

¨ Prepare and serve snacks

¨ Promote a welcoming environment for all families and community members

**Qualifications**:
¨ R.E.C.E. Diploma or equivalent qualifications

¨ Knowledge of Emergent Curriculum & Reggio Emilia Philosophy

¨ Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting

¨ Excellent English language communication skills, both written and verbal

¨ Second language is an asset

¨ Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork.

¨ Current First-Aid/C.P.R. certificates

¨ Current Food Handler’s Certificate

¨ Knowledge of Toronto Children’s Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement

¨ Computer knowledge an asset

¨ Cleared Police Reference check for the vulnerable sector

¨ Registered with the College of ECE

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: From $29.58 per hour
