We are looking for a bilingual working supervisor to assist our tank assemblers in the construction of bolted steel storage tanks. Tank Assemblers are responsible for the erection of bolted steel tank systems utilizing safe construction techniques and a variety of hand and power tools while adhering to company quality standards for a superior finished tank product. The working supervisor will learn how to build tanks with the crew performing leadership duties while assisting the foreman with reporting tasks and client communication. The working supervisor's next step on our career pathway is into a foreman position, running their own crew and management.
**Position Summary: Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Use a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, work instructions and other equipment to correctly assemble bolted tank systems.
- Read and follow assembly drawings, prints and instructions.
- Lift, carry, or guide machine aided movement of assembly materials such as steel sheets, channels, tubes, mechanical fasteners, and other items as requested/needed for bolted tank assembly.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
- Utilize and comply methods of production, guidelines and requirements according to established company policy.
- Assist Foreman with daily reporting and safety documentation
- Communicate with clients and attend regular site safety meetings on behalf of the company
- Coach and guide tank assemblers to perform work safely
- Act as the bridge between the field crews and management
**Skills and Specifications**:
- Ability to learn operation of forklift, man-lift, and other material handling mobile equipment.
- Ability to safely operate a variety of power tools.
- Willingness to work at heights.
- Ability to read and comprehend blue prints and/or sketches.
- Ability to use simple math to perform basic calculations.
- Knowledge and ability to use common measuring instruments and hand tools such as tape measure, level, or square.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- Ability to contribute and work in a team environment.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work.
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
- Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
- Able to travel in the course of work
- Bilingual in French and English
**Education and Qualifications**:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Iron Working background (preferred)
- Valid Quebec ASP certification (highly preferred)
- 3-5 years construction experience
- Leadership, supervision and foreman skills considered asset
- Drivers License
- Tickets - Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, EWP, Forklift would be beneficial
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screen and pre-employment medicals ongoing from site-site requirements as required
**Physical Requirements**:

Pay: $50.00-$65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 44 - 60 per week
