**Position: Multi-Utility Operator**
**Location: Edmonton, Alberta**
**Type: Full Time, Hourly**

Kichton Contracting Ltd. Is looking for an experienced, full time (seasonal) **Utility Operator**. We are looking for an outgoing, adaptable individual looking to learn and grow within our team and industry.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate Excavator as it applies to underground utility installations, subdivision servicing and rehabilitation
- Excavate and slope ditches to grade for general water and sewer installation
- Ensure trench is excavated to appropriate depth/grade
- Perform pre & post trip equipment inspection following standardized checklist
- Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Kichton Contracting Ltd.’s safe work practices, policies, procedures and local legislative requirements
- Identify all hazards and potential hazards to site supervision
- Report any irregularities in soil or materials to site supervision
- Report all incidents, near misses and equipment damage to site supervision
- Assist with other duties as required

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to participate positively in an engaging culture
- Must be able to organize and plan tasks, with an ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Must be dependable
- Effective attention to detail with highest degree of accuracy
- Comfortability excavating near existing utilities
- Ability to interpret grade stakes
- Ability to follow track and centerline
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to track and breakout time spent on tasks throughout the day and report to site supervision
- Knowledge of civil and/or underground infrastructure
- Must possess and effectively operate a smart phone as it relates to daily FLHA & timesheet completion

**Required Qualifications**:

- Must be 18 years of age
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience working as an Excavator Operator
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Valid CSTS-2020
- Valid Ground Disturbance II certification

**Working Conditions**:

- Overtime as required
- Comfortability working in various weather conditions
- Repetitive bending and lifting
- Various restricted, confined & tight work zones
