**Working for the Health Sciences Education and Research Commons (HSERC)**
The Health Sciences Education and Research Commons (HSERC) is both an academic and a physical space where interprofessional education curriculum is researched, developed, evaluated and delivered. At the College of Health Sciences, HSERC spaces are not your typical classrooms; they are high-tech environments equipped with the latest medical simulation technology. Here, students from nursing, medicine, pharmacy and other faculties come together, learning through realistic scenarios that prepare them for the unpredictability of real-world healthcare settings
**Position Summary**
Team Lead, HSERC oversees the day-to-day operations of HSERC to ensure that the strategic and operational objectives of the area are met. Responsibilities include supervision of staff responsible for simulation education, standardized patient administration and professional licensure exams. The Team Lead responds to and liaises with internal/external contacts; and collaborates with the CGM and FoMD leadership to create and implement policies and procedures related to HSERC activities.
The Team Lead contributes to the short and long-term planning (space, facility operation, services provided, financial and hr considerations) and the institution of procedures and programs that will ensure effective, cost-efficient and sustainable operation of HSERC along with excellent client experience.
**Duties**
- Direct, coordinate and supervise the services, staff and resources for the development, delivery and operation of the three main activities in HSERC: standardized patient (SP) administration, simulation education, and licensure exams. HSERC also provides services such as mask fitting for all students in CHS faculties.
- Explore, consider/recommend and implement other areas of revenue generation (including a possible fee for service model) or other service offerings that would align with HSERC.
- Ensures adherence to University policies and procedures and makes recommendations for change as needed.
- Regularly liaises with FoMD leadership/contact, specifically the FoMD Director of Simulation, and the Vice-dean Education FoMD as needed, with respect to management of simulation education, including facility bookings, supplies, staff responsibilities, evaluation and budget.
- Consults with staff to identify equipment/material/resource needs and creates and maintains budgets related to supplies and equipment
**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in a health-related field
- 3-5 years of experience in program administration and operation and staff supervision
- Clinical setting experience is an asset
- Experience in a simulation education environment is an asset
