**The Opportunity**:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Grocery Clerk at located at 850 Dakota Street, in Winnipeg. This position reports to the Grocery Manager. The Grocery Clerk adds value to our Co-operative by providing world-class customer service that is fast, friendly and efficient.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Maintain sections of merchandise (non-perishable food, dairy, frozen food, general merchandise, health and beauty, bulk food) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Grocery Manager.
- Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature-controlled environment.
- Ensure the Grocery Department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
- Assist in building mass and bunk end displays as required.
- Present a neat, clean, fresh, well-merchandised department and related work areas (sales floor, end caps, coolers, freezers, receiving area, warehouse, etc.)
This vacancy requires early morning availability (preferably 4:00 a.m. or earlier).
**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Previous experience in a retail grocery department, preferred but not required
- Ability to work early morning hours
- Ability to lift 30 pounds repeatedly
