**Job description**:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Machinist to join our team at Harmac Pacific Pulp Mill. Under the direction of the Spare Parts Supervisor, you will support operations by performing routine machine maintenance. You are an independent self-starter, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, you are highly organized and adaptable to changes in the work environment. Able to think on your feet and shift priorities mid project as emergency repairs arrive. This position comes under a Labour Agreement with the PPWC Local #8 union and is scheduled for a 4-day/10-hour per day work week.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Work from drawings and written instructions making new and repair old parts.
- Repair and rework non-conforming parts back to specification.
- Be able to adapt to rush and emergency jobs that happen daily.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
**Qualifications**:
- Interprovincial Machinist Trades Qualification
- The ability to efficiently set up and operate manual lathes, manual milling machines, bandsaw, and most typical machine shop machinery. (Key-seater experience would be an asset)
- Cnc lathe along with cad cam experience a bonus
- Sound base knowledge of materials
- Demonstrate the values of safety, teamwork, and accountability and work well with others.
- Attention to detail, especially ensuring specific steps are followed to complete a task and have high standards towards quality control.
- Along with your qualifications, you will be a proven team player who is excited about contributing to the business. We value initiative and the willingness to work with others to move our business forward.
