The 24-week NACC (National Association of Career Colleges)-approved Personal Support Worker Certification Program prepares our graduates to provide supportive care to individuals across the lifespan by assisting them with their activities of daily living. Client care may include those experiencing cognitive impairment, physical disability, and mental health challenges. Ontario PSW Course graduates typically find employment in a variety of care settings including community, retirement homes, long-term care homes, and hospitals. The instructor will deliver curriculum content, keep accurate attendance, up to date grades for students and ensure curriculum content is relevant /applicable with current industry standards. In addition, the instructor will act as a liaison between the students and the coordinator of the program (i.e., inform the Program Coordinator of any situations or concerns which could affect faculty or students; as well as overall image of KLC College). **Key Responsibilities**: - Student Related: _ - delivery of program curriculum - promptly identify "at-risk" students and refer these students for appropriate assistance - prepare mid-term evaluations - daily attendance - responsible for grading all assignments, tests, projects, or simulation labs associated with the courses being taught - punctually start and end classes at the prescribed times - be present during the prescribed hours of classes - expect to be observed each term and may be mentored by another instructor - be familiar with KLC College’s most current Policy and Procedures - keep current with changes in your field - participate in CE credits and/or conferences applicable to your field - create and maintain a network of other professionals **Qualifications** - Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) - Up-to-date CPR/FA - Minimum 2 years experience **Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract Schedule: - Monday to Friday **Experience**: - Personal Support Worker or similar: 2 years (required) Licence/Certification: - RPN or RN (preferred)
