The Youth Services Bureau is a community leader in Ottawa, providing life-changing programs and services to vulnerable and at-risk youth (13-21) by helping them deal with difficult issues they face - issues like poverty, abuse, family violence, depression, addiction and homelessness. YSB’s highly trained staff provides a safe and non-judgmental environment for youth where they are valued and empowered. More than 350 caring professionals work from 26 locations reaching across the city to deliver a vast range of impactful programs and services that support at‑risk youth. YSB has earned a reputation for getting things done, and continues to play an innovative leadership role, working and partnering with numerous agencies and groups in the community to develop, deliver and advocate for better conditions, services and opportunities for our youth and their families.
We are in a time of change and growth on many levels. Significant changes at the community level - changing demographics, rising mental health challenges and rising numbers of youth from diverse backgrounds seeking support - have added to the numbers of vulnerable youth and families reaching out to us. As the Ministry of Health’s Lead Agency for child and youth mental health in Ottawa, YSB is determined to change the way we think about service delivery. It is in this context that we are looking for a new Chief Executive Officer. Our current CEO is retiring after 12 years of distinguished service as a community leader and advocate. We are looking for a new dynamic leader who will lead us into the next phase of our evolution as a champion and key partner of vulnerable youth and families in our community. It is truly an exciting time to be leading services that really meet the needs of our youth.
