The Catholic Centre for immigrants (CCI) has been serving refugees and immigrants for more than 65 years. CCI is a bridge between the 7,000 immigrants and refugees who come to Ottawa each year and the community. We provide programs and services to help newcomers settle and integrate. We also work in the community to promote the value of a diverse and more welcoming community for all.

Under the direction of the Program Manager, **Program Coordinator**will support the management, planning and implementation of programs and activities, as well as providing support with staff supervision, HR procedures, budget planning, implementing strategies and other responsibilities as assigned by the program manager.

This position reports to: Program Manager
Employment Status: Full-time, Term
Hourly rate: $32.19

**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Program Support Coordinator will support the Program Manager by:

- Assist the program manager with overseeing programs functioning
- Assist with hiring, training, supervision of staff and volunteers, including HR tasks
- Coordinate staff working schedules in accordance with the program needs
- Implement outreach marketing strategies, to enhance programs and services
- Identify and build relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of program frameworks, such as: new programming initiatives, standardized program processes and outcomes, research on client’s needs, gaps and trends
- Support the Program Manager in seeking funding opportunities and preparation of funding proposals
- Maintain accurate service records and program documentation
- Provide program reports and statistical information as required
- Participate in meetings and activities that promote understanding of newcomers
- Ensure all staff are kept informed of all ongoing work related volunteer programs, as well as support volunteer processes and database
- Facilitate regular staff meetings and maintain agendas, as needed
- Coordination of other activities as assigned by the program manager

**QUALIFICATIONS**

(Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills)

The Program Coordinator understands and supports CCI’s mission and has knowledge of the newcomer market in Ottawa. This position requires strong communications and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational abilities and exceptional cultural competency. The Program Coordinator must be a self-starter that takes the initiative and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
- Post-Secondary/ University degree with a minimum of 2 years work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated project management and coordination experience.
- Cross-cultural competence and demonstrated ability to function in a culturally diverse workplace.
- Experience developing program budgets working with Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to deal with confidential material and matters.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform duties independently or with mínimal supervision.
- Fluency in verbal and written English is essential. French and other languages is a strong asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, from time to time.
