**INDIGENOUS YOUTH WORKER**
**(Temporary, Permanent & Casual)**
Working under the direction of administrator/designate, the youth worker implements and promotes individualized and/or group programs in First Nations studies under the direction of the teacher.
**Required knowledge and Skills**:
- Completion of a two-year post-secondary education diploma in child/youth care from a recognized college/institution OR completion of two years of university course work in Psychology or Sociology.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- A thorough knowledge of First Nations cultures, traditions and values demonstrated through **Indigenous Ancestry.**
The successful applicant will be a person of Indigenous ancestry in accordance with an approved special program under Section 42(3) of the British Columbia Human Rights Code.
Both continuing and casual positions are unionized and offer $34.28/hour. Continuing positions are 37.5 hours / week while school is in session and include an attractive benefit package which consists of Extended Health, Dental, and Pension Plan (MPP). Casual positions offer 16% in lieu of benefits.
