The City of Port Moody is seeking an enthusiastic individual with strong administrative, customer service, and supervisory skills for the temporary, full-time position of Recreation Assistant for up to 18 months.

The Recreation Assistant provides support to front-line customer service and clerical services for Recreation. This position will supervise and schedule Registration Clerks, Convenors, and Recreation Clerks; coordinate the recreation brochure; and be responsible for program registration, bookings, Leisure Access, and administrative support for Emergency Social Services (ESS).

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and schedule registration and clerical staff
- Provide support to the registration desk
- Assign, direct and review the work of the recreation clerical staff
- Provide administrative support to the department
- Lead and support PerfectMind
- Coordinate the content, editing and proofing of the Happening Guide
- Supervise staff responsible for bookings and preparation of rental contracts
- Provide administrative support to ESS and coordinate and track annual training
- Research data for statistics and various reports
- Administer the Leisure Access system

Basic Qualifications:

- Up to six months of related community college courses in business and recreation
- 2-3 years of directly related experience is required, including demonstrated supervisory experience and excellent leadership skills
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and publishing software
- Experience with registration and facility booking systems, preferably Perfect Mind
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult customers
- Cash handling experience
- ESS training
- Emergency First Aid training
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License
