Overview:
This role will pay a salary of $23.08 to $25.48.

About the Venue:
OVG360 is currently seeking a full-time Facility Operator for the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, ON. The Mattamy Athletic Centre is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility located in the former Maple Leaf Gardens. The facility consists of an NHL-sized arena that seats approximately 2,700 for hockey and ice events, and 4,000 for stage events. The facility’s double gym can accommodate up to 1,000 spectators under various configurations, including basketball, volleyball, and special events. There is also a 10,000 sq. foot fitness centre, and over 12,000 sq. feet of office and meeting room space.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the overall operations of the entire venue.
- Work with external clients in the preparation, execution, and tear down of events.
- Assist with custodial duties including cleaning and disinfecting washroom and change room areas, as well as vacuuming and sweeping meeting rooms and office areas
- Properly inspect, maintain, and operate building equipment including ice resurfacing machines, forklifts, building automation systems, and personnel lifts - Training will be provided
- Change light bulbs, batteries, and perform minor repairs as necessary
- Ensure all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with all written policies, applicable government codes, and regulations
- Work alongside conversion crew during event set ups and tear downs
- Operate and respond to building automation systems including alarms
- Respond to on site assistance requests from rental clients
- Maintain the exterior of the building including snow and debris removal

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in an arena or recreation facility is considered an asset
- A self-starter with good communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work within a team environment
- Excellent time management skills and an ongoing awareness of client satisfaction
- Willingness to work regular evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, plus an understanding of the physical nature of the work
- Experience with power tools is considered an asset
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory
- Knowledge of ice arena / court maintenance is considered an asset. Training will be provided
