Shift Leader Job Description

**Duties**:
As a member of the operations team, the Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and timely production. The individual will be actively involved in the production process including quality inspection and production troubleshooting.

As the Shift Lead, you will be responsible for:

- Leading and Managing People
- Production
- Safety
- Quality
- Reporting

In your role, you will:

- Ensure production lines are operated in accordance with job safety analysis, standard operating procedures, and quality procedures, to meet or exceed productivity requirements and minimize downtime and waste.
- Act as an escalation point for production-related issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve production / equipment issues.
- Perform regular workplace inspections to determine areas that require maintenance or repair.
- Maintain general housekeeping of work area(s).
- Perform in-process inspection and finished good inspections.
- Ensure all logs, equipment monitoring checklist, operator logs, are completed accurately.
- Fill out Incident Reports, Hazard Assessments and other forms as required.

Qualifications:

- Journey person trade certification, and/or a technical diploma in a related field
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with involvement in both machine setup and repair
- You must be a self-motivated person, a team player able to work under pressure and under a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends.
- Demonstrated ability in the following core competencies: Customer Service, Innovation and Flexibility, strive for Continuous Improvement, work collaboratively with others.
