**BURNCO** has a tremendous opportunity for a **Cybersecurity Analyst**to based out of our corporate headquarters in **Calgary, Alberta**.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Threat Monitoring and Detection**: Continuously monitor network traffic, system logs, and security events to identify and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- **Incident Response**: Detect, analyze, and respond to security breaches and incidents swiftly and effectively.
- **Risk Assessment**: Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security risks and implement appropriate measures.
- **Security Protocols and Compliance**: Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- **Security Awareness**: Educate and train employees on cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats.
- **Technology Integration**: Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the integration of security measures in all aspects of the business.
- **Reporting**: Prepare and present detailed reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance status to management.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related experience. Relevant certifications are highly desirable.
- **Experience**: Proven 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT security role, with hands-on experience in incident response, threat analysis, and security risk assessments.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus software, and vulnerability management solutions.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cyber threat vectors. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- **Analytical Skills**: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively under pressure.
- **Communication**: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- **Team Player**: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
**Highly Desirable**
- Experience with specific technologies used at BURNCO (e.g., SAP, Salesforce)
- Understanding of Zero Trust security principles and secure-by-design approaches.
- Advanced certifications in cybersecurity or related fields.
