**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to the Director, Merchandising and eCommerce, the Manager, Pricing and Promotions is responsible for reviewing analytics to develop strategies to maximize sales and profit by optimizing retail pricing and promotions at store level. Manages and oversees a team that is responsible for the analysis and interpretation of Rexall front shop (non-pharmacy) activities and opportunities with a particular emphasis on promotional optimization. Specifically, the Manager will be responsible for leading a team of analysts on high-profile, cross functional-strategic project focused on optimizing the effectiveness of Rexall’s promotional activities.

**Pricing**:
- Manage all facets (strategy, processes, systems, reporting) surrounding the pricing of products across our brands
- Develop a team of analysts to utilize market dynamics, pricing trends, market opportunities, operating and sales margins to develop strategies and make recommendations for pricing.
- Work across the organization to provide analytical pricing structures
- Develop and implement pricing tools to improve reporting and analytics.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline execution at a store level.
- Lead the development and monitoring of metrics, data, and reporting processes to determine effectiveness, and performance and identify sales and margin opportunities.
- Oversee margin and pricing analysis to support key business initiatives as required.
- Oversees price increases and develop strategies and processes to minimize margin erosion.
- Manage KPI’s to measure effectiveness and outcomes of pricing actions
- Manage pricing vis-à-vis competitors and regional competitive situation by gathering and integrating market and competitive insights into pricing and other activities
**Promotions**:
- Maintain a Promotional strategy that delivers growth to top line sales and profitably.
- Manage the Promotional planning process from planning to execution stages for Flyer and all In-Store Promotions
- Manage the annual and quarterly flyer planning process to make decisions on page count, space allocation, category mix, dark days, etc.
- Provide thought leadership to the team in proactively identifying sales, margin, and basket-driving promotions for presentation to the Category teams
- Oversee the detailed analysis to ensure reliability, credibility and viability of conclusions and recommendations
- Lead the forecasting of promotional sales and margin across all categories and be accountable for accuracy of consolidated forecast; measure and provide reporting relative to category targets and other metrics
- Govern and validate the integrity of the data, the accuracy of the demand models and forecasts, and the accuracy of the results.
- Liaise with appropriate stakeholders (eg Supply Chain, Category Management, Merchandising) to ensure proper end-to-end execution of promotions
- Lead presentation of analysis results and recommendations to senior management and key business stakeholders
**Knowledge, skills and experience**:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Merchandising/Marketing function, preferably within a retail environment.
- Undergraduate University Degree in a related field.
- Analytical and strong attention to detail including; exploring data, discovering patterns, relationships, anomalies and trends.
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Customer-focused and a great teammate.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel, Power Query and Access.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform including Power BI and Power Automate.
- Working knowledge of programming languages including VBA, VBS, PHP, and Python is an asset.
