**Accounting Supervisor**:
Location: Edmonton, AB

**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the Controller with workflow process improvement and pursuing special projects
- Working with direct reports to determine objectives and goals for each year, and advising on their progress to enhance staff professional development
- Assisting in the design and implementation of features and procedures to enhance the accounting department’s workflow
- Making sure members of the finance team meet all financial reporting deadlines
- Responding to inquiries from the Controller, Director of Finance, and other high-level Managers
- Training and advising new and existing employees of non-routine reporting transactions
- Monitoring and analyzing the financial department to develop more efficient procedures and proper use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Manage all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, Costing, Inventory accounting, and Revenue Recognition (Current staff of 5)
- Prepare and process statutory filings and remittances
- Handle accounting department personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
- Publish monthly and annual financial statements
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close

**Requirements**:

- Post Secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in Management, Accounting, or a related field may be preferred.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
- CPA designation or in current pursuit of CPA designation preferred but not required
