The imaging research groups are tightly integrated with the major hospitals in London, enabling the discovery and development of innovative imaging techniques and instrumentation to improve the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of human diseases. The group provides specialized training programs for graduate students through various departments and Research Institutes at Western University. **Responsibilities**: The Administrative Assistant works closely with the Director and the BIRC Operations Committee, the Executive Assistant is responsible for strategic planning and supporting researchers and other stakeholders by managing new developments and the day to day operations of the BIRC community, with the goal of building and promoting local, national, and international awareness of the research being conducted. The administrative assistant will coordinate multicenter medical imaging research and maintain and expand a collaborative approach among the members of BIRC, including participation in joint funding opportunities.The incumbent has full administrative responsibility for BIRC’s financial resources, including collection of membership fees, and soliciting and tracking supporting funds from the various Departments and Institutions. This also includes tracking the BIRC budget and ordering and paying invoices. This also includes tracking the BIRC budget and ordering and paying invoices.The incumbent is responsible for ongoing website development and maintenance, developing and delivering a print and digital annual report to stakeholders; and planning all BIRC related events, including retreats, outreach events, seminars, and workshops. The incumbent is responsible for seeking new members and maintaining up-to-date membership lists for Faculty and students, and in the collection and tracking of membership fees. **Qualifications**: **Education**: - Community College Diploma in an administrative field **Experience**: - 1 year of experience providing customer service in a business office setting Skills, Abilities & Expertise: - Experience in working with many different disciplines, and the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community. - Good knowledge of Western’s Financial Services for purchasing, paying invoices and submitting Expense Reports, and the ability to plan and execute budgetary control. - Graphic design skills and web design and implementation experience - Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office with an advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; expertise with Drupal and Photoshop - Strong track record in organizing successful events, such as research symposia, retreats, seminar series and workshops. - Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage activities both for self and others effectively - Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion within tightly prescribed timelines. - Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and actively contribute in meetings and in team settings. **Why Western?**: Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications.
