Do you want to program sophisticated laser machines? Are you interested in finding innovative solutions to production challenges? Then join the Vortex team as a Methods Agent. Working within the continuous improvement team, your mandate will be to optimize productivity by establishing/revising different manufacturing methods to ensure quality. You will also be responsible for creating manufacturing programs for laser cutting.
**Responsibilities**:
- Reads and understands BOMs (Bills of Materials) to select the parts to be cut
- Creates production programs for laser cutting of parts
- Review orders to determine job specifications and parts nesting requirements
- Collaborate with the planning team to ensure expected production of laser machine parts;
Analyze and optimize production methods for parts to be manufactured;
Be the point of contact between the production, operations and design teams for all process, production, and part quality improvements.
Support the production team in resolving manufacturing challenges (ex: creation of jigs).
**Skills and Competencies**:
- Solid understanding of metal fabrication concepts and processes;
- Experience in laser machine programming (an asset);
- Good knowledge of Solidworks;
- Ability to read technical drawings;
- Must be detail oriented;
- Very good ability to organize one’s work;
- Good verbal and written communication with colleagues, supervisors and other co-workers in a collaborative team environment;
