Position**:Traffic Controller**

Location: 375 Gage Avenue North, Hamilton
Status: Full Time Permanent
**Summary**
In this role, you will be part of a team that is responsible for the directing customer traffic within our transfer station and assist the public with general enquires while maintaining a professional image of the company and delivering high-quality customer service. From previous experience, you'll already know the importance of health and safety in the workplace, and you'll champion our culture of making sure everyone gets home safely. This role will be working outdoors year round in all weather conditions.

**Responsibilities**:
- Control incoming waste and recyclables and loading out haulage vehicles
- Undertake general laboring duties and may operate heavy equipment as required
- Directs traffic in the tipping areas and acts as a signal person around the site
- Reports to Supervisor on unacceptable materials being dumped.
**Qualifications**
- Experience working at a waste transfer station preferred
- Excellent customer service skills in a business environment, including working in a team environment, assisting customers face-to-face and handing complaints
- Previous loader and excavator operator experience would be an advantage however full training will be provided to the successful applicant.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
**Skills**
- Organization skills, sorting and processing experience, physically demanding job lifting up to 50lbs, bending reaching, working with minimum supervision.

- Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity continuously and repeatedly throughout an 8 - 12-hour shift.
- Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, sitting and lifting continuously and repeatedly.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: From $22.00 per hour
