**Certified Engineering Technologist (Structural)**
- **Requirements**:_
- Post Secondary diploma in civil engineering or construction engineering from a recognized North American educational institution with a minimum of 2 years experience working exclusively with structural steel design and fabrication.
- Certified Engineering designation is an asset and is highly valued for this position, or equivalent training with 6+ years of experience in civil or construction engineering plus 2 years experience in structural design, specifically working with steel structures.
- Demonstrable knowledge of design and drafting standards and practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials with a focus on concrete and steel.
- CAD experience associated with calculating and drafting steel connection details
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Knowledge and understanding of BIM tools and methodologies
- Preferred knowledge of Tekla, and/or other 3D modelling software
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Strong, professional verbal and communication ability
- Good judgement and sound decision making skills
- Critical thinking and generous problem solving abilities
- **Duties**:_
- Read, comprehend, and interpret contract documents and engineering construction drawings and specifications
- Create accurate shop drawings, bill of materials, erection drawings, and other items as required to complete and deliver structural steel packages to clients in a timely manner
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of structural components
- Verify dimensions and identify/scoping of structural work
- Ability to perform structural analysis and calculations using appropriate software tools
- Up to date with industry advancements in structural design technology
- Review and revise designs based on feedback from clients, architects, and engineers
- Conduct structural analysis and calculations to determine strength, stability, and load-bearing capacity of structures.
- Analyze design specifications and requirements to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
- High degree of integrity, honesty, and positivity towards your work, team, and employer
- Takes initiative to manage, prioritize, and organize tasks and projects with minimum supervision
- Ability to succinctly communicate project status, and provide updates as appropriate
- Courteous, helpful, and tactful working with clients and contractors
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal legal requirements and best practices at all times

Pay: $60,000.00-$74,000.00 per year
