**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work with the Warehouse Manager to plan and prepare weekly load plans for the facility and communicate targets to the team.
- Set up, assemble, inspect and adjust packaging line on a daily basis to facilitate an efficient shift
- Direct packaging team on any corrective measures necessary
- Manage labour and materials in accordance with the packaging production schedule
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure packaging departments goals are met through proactive and efficient communication
- Train new staff on packing specific products using pre-developed work instructions
- Inspect packing for tears, cracks and dents, and make sure the materials inside are packed in a way to minimize breakage during transit.
- Perform final checks for defective items and ensure all working items make it to the packaging area. Any defective items must be discarded according to company procedures.
- Place completed products into boxes and prepare them for shipping by weighing, labeling and recording information.
- Place products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment.
- Ensure that the prepared packages make it to their designated locations, such as loading zones or inventory locations.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Ensure all orders that are packaged and shipped are tracked in order to ensure inventory is accurately recorded.
- Maintain warehouse packing-related inventory through cycle counts and by arranging boxes and making sure they’re stored in a way so they won’t get damaged.
- Support the Management team to share ideas and improve packaging operations; recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities, cost reduction initiatives and processes to assist meeting company goals and objectives
- Promote a safe work environment and support the company health and safety policy

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- 3+years experience supervising a team
- Knowledge of packing operations and a minimum 1 year or previous experience
- Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word. Google suite
- Valid forklift license required
- Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties.
- Active listening and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Great attention to detail.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members.
- Good organization and time management skills.
- English Language skills: demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills
- High School Diploma/ GED is an asset.
