The 49th Parallel is a family run business, proudly operating in and around the Cowichan Valley for over 40 years Our growing business is built on the exceptional customer service our staff provide and we are looking to expand our team.
- What you’ll do in a day_
- _**Be a team leader**_ and who comes to work everyday with a positive attitude ready to coach and motivate our employees.
- Use your _**friendly and outgoing**_ personality to go above and beyond for our customers and ensure they have a positive shopping experience.
- Achieve _**company**_ _targets and_ _**departmental initiatives**_ by managing inventory, labor, and merchandise.
- Utilize your knowledge of the 49th standards of quality to _**plan, order, and process**_ bakery products while achieving _**sales and profit targets.**_
- Ensure staff are well _**trained and knowledgeable**_ and departments are well stocked with beautifully displayed products.
- Oversee the _**health and safety**_ of our employees and customers by maintaining a neat and tidy work area and ensuring proper food safe processes are followed.
- What you’ve got for us: _
- Strong leadership skills with effective numeracy and organizational abilities
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and a drive to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to regularly lift 25 pounds
- Bonus points if you have: _
- Bakery Management experience with an understanding of scheduling a large department (10-15 people)
- Food Safe Certification, but we can’t definitely help you get this one
