- SLACAN Industries Inc. is Canada's largest designer and manufacturer of Poleline Hardware, which includes a full line of Transmission and Distribution products. We service the OEM market including the agricultural, mining and other industries. Our in-house processes include forgings, hot / cold stampings and weldments._

**About the Role**

Do you thrive in a hands-on environment and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment? Join our team as a Assembly/Machine Shop Operator and be part of a dependable production crew where precision, efficiency and teamwork drive success.
- In this position you will begin assembling poleline hardware and preparing products for packaging. As you grow in the role, you'll also operate machinery such as drill presses, threading, pointing, and rounding machines, as well as various industrial presses.

**Job Duties**
- Runs drills, threaders/pointers/rounders, presses, nut runners, and hoppers as instructed.
- Assembles/packs product as instructed.
- Receives job identification and job instructions from the shop floor business system after set-up is made.
- Periodically checks parts to ensure tolerances are maintained.
- Keeps machine bed clear of chips and cuttings.
- Cleans cuttings from machine and keeps cutting heads clear.
- Checks and gauges using samples or gauges, etc., reports any variations during run.
- Informs Setup Man or Supervisor if machines or tools not working satisfactorily.
- Reports/records time and production quantities as required into the shop floor business system.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Tools and Materials**
- Use appropriate tools and equipment to operate the required machines in 076 department.
- Additional tools and equipment may be used as required.
- Various ferrous and non-ferrous semi-finished products, lubricating oils, inks, greases, oils/lubricants, compounds and component parts.
- Cotter pins, nuts, washers, cardboard.
