**Montessori Assistant Director**

We are looking to hire a qualified Montessori Assistant Director to manage our day-to-day operations and establish and sustain a positive learning environment for children. You will oversee the coordination of education programs that comply with Alberta regulations and Centre philosophy, ensure that the Centre is maintained, manage and support a complement of Centre staff.

The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in managing all aspects of a day at the Centre, as well as strong leadership skills. Must display a friendly demeanor, have a love for children, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children and Educators. Early childhood development experience is a must as well as proven leadership skills.

**Responsibilities**:
Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children and families.
- Manage and coordinate curricula with staff that complies Alberta Childcare Licensing and the program plan of the Centre.
- Ensure that Centre facilities are safe for children and comply with laws and regulations.
- Manage and support the Educators and promote their professional development.
- Interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements.
- Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on standards and procedures of the Centre.
- Develop and facilitate a marketing and communications plan.

**Requirements**:
Associates or bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Early childhood education experience required.
- Montessori Diploma required.
- Knowledge of Montessori pedagogy required.
- Assistant Director experience in a childcare facility required (3-5 years).
- Comply with provincial requirements governing child care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and skills in staff management required.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Self-motivation and ability to work with little direction.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
