**Job Description**:
- _Successful security clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration program is a mandatory pre-requirement for this position at this location. Please note the following are _some (but not all) _of the listed requirements for Controlled Goods Clearance:_
- _Must be a Canadian citizen normally residing in Canada, or must be a Permanent Resident normally residing in Canada_
- _Must have valid and current identification (i.e.: driver’s license, passport, birth certificate)_
- _Must be able to provide a residential address and employment history of the past 5 years_
- _If applicable, living outside of Canada during the past five years will require an international criminal name check_
Main Responsibilities:
- Performs assignments aimed at achieving attainable production schedules, inventory/ materials control, purchase orders and timely shipments of products. Activities include: (a) reviewing and analyzing forecasts for inventory/raw material needs; (b) evaluating and projecting capacity requirements; and (c) determining when and how much material to order
- Regulates and reconciles inventory levels and analyzes materials requirement planning data and summarizes production reports. Regulates excess inventories for raw materials, semi-finished goods, finished goods and/or packaging supplies. Establishes buffers for inventory in anticipation of demand variations associated with promotions, seasonality and major account conversions. Orders materials within the Just-In-Time format and procedures
- Assists various departments (customer service, laboratory, engineering, marketing, production) in meeting their respective goals and targets by providing accurate information (such as promise dates and fill rates) to customers within acceptable lead time, and communicating related policies and procedures. Utilizes plant, division and corporate logistics information systems for accurate reporting, material usage, transactions, maintaining production and planning data
- Supports the planning for new product introduction through effective scheduling, procuring necessary components and materials, and working with suppliers on packaging cost reductions. May establish ordering system for new products
- Improves understanding of state-of-the-art logistics concepts through completion of appropriate American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) modules
Basic Qualifications:
- Completion of Post-secondary education (Business, Management, or Supply Chain)
- 1 year of Experience with MS Office
- 2 years of work experience in Supply Chain
- Able to pass Controlled Goods Clearance, if selected (we administer)
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) CPIM certification is preferred. If not complete at the time this position is assumed, the certification will become part of the employee professional development plan as agreed between management and the employee.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management
- SAP experience
- Strong analytical skills, able to perform data analysis with mass data sets (eg Power BI)
- Six Sigma Green Belt project experience and/or certification an asset
