Head Chef

Southside Golf Course is looking for a skilled and driven Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to oversee all kitchen operations, from menu creation to managing kitchen staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food for both regular service and special events. Reliable transportation is required, as we are located on the outskirts of Winnipeg, with no public transport available.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Event & Menu Planning**: Collaborate with the FOH Supervisor and General Manager to plan and execute special events, tournaments, and promotions. Create and develop menus and daily specials, ensuring variety and quality.
- **Team Training & Supervision**: Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to proper food handling, safety procedures, and kitchen practices.
- **Recipe Development**: Develop and create recipes for kitchen staff to follow, ensuring consistency and high-quality results.
- **Operational Management**: Work independently with attention to detail and self-accountability while managing daily kitchen operations. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- **Inventory & Ordering**: Manage inventory, place orders for supplies, and produce monthly inventory counts.
- **Equipment Management**: Safely work with and oversee kitchen equipment, including fryers, flat tops, broilers, and ovens.
- **Health & Safety Compliance**: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a safe work environment for all kitchen staff.
- Proven work experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role in a kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of food costs, inventory control, and overall kitchen operations.
- Excellent culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation.
- Hands-on experience working with various kitchen equipment (fryers, broilers, flat tops, ovens, etc.).
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid Food Handlers Certification is mandatory.
