Your role

As Regional Lineup Web Editor assigned to the digital team, your responsibilities will include identifying story ideas, writing articles, editing news content, and ensuring publication primarily on the Radio-Canada Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec web page, but also on other digital platforms such as the mobile app, website, newsletter, social media, and others.

You will report to the Chief of News and Programming and must comply with Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.

This is primarily an evening web position, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. However, the schedule may vary based on production needs.- Monitor current events from a variety of news sources.- Determine topics and editorial angles in collaboration with the editorial team.- Research, gather, analyze, and fact-check information to produce digital content.- Coordinate the work of the digital newsroom team.- Oversee the work of journalists prior to publication, in collaboration with the editorial team.- Ensure the quality of written content: identifying sources, verifying facts, and requesting corrections when needed, in line with Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.- Establish content publishing strategies in coordination with news assignment editors.- Research images and ensure the integration of visuals, graphics, videos, or audio as needed.- Monitor breaking news and developments.- Ensure continuous updates across all responsible platforms.- Write alerts, headlines, and articles when necessary.- Regularly conduct technological watch to identify best digital practices and innovations.- Use available tools to track audience metrics and content performance.- Collaborate with assignment editors, show directors, and the national desk to highlight stories with regional or national reach.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent- Five (5) years of experience in journalism or equivalent- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a digital environment

**Skills**:
- Strong understanding of digital trends and formats- Excellent news judgment and awareness of current affairs- Outstanding writing skills- Broad general knowledge- Demonstrated initiative- Positive leadership and strong interpersonal skills- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Excellent command of French (working language)- Intermediate-level oral, written, and reading comprehension skills in English- Ability to work collaboratively while being autonomous and resourceful- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines- Familiarity with Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices- Knowledge of content management systems (Scoop, Picto, etc.) and audio/video tools such as Avid, Dalet Plus, or Final Cut are an asset- Interview- Skills and knowledge testing
