Your role

We are looking for a Regional Lineup Web Editor whose main responsibilities will be to oversee the production of news content in digital formats — both written and video.

You will be expected to pitch story ideas, write content, and support journalists in their work. You’ll also be responsible for reviewing content and supervising its publication across various digital news platforms. Additionally, you will manage the editorial selection process that feeds into different digital platform rundowns and distribution channels (mobile app, website, newsletters, social media, and more).

In this role, you will report to the Chief of News for French Services in Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec, and must comply with Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.

This is a daytime position, Monday to Friday, though hours may vary depending on production needs.- Monitor current events from various news sources.- Determine topics and editorial angles in collaboration with the editorial team.- Coordinate digital projects, content production, and deployment.- Review and supervise the work of journalists before publication; request corrections when needed; identify sources and verify facts.- Ensure compliance with Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices and Digital Publishing Standards.- Research images and ensure integration of visuals, graphics, video, or audio elements into content.- Ensure continuous updates to digital platforms under their responsibility.- Write news alerts, articles, and headlines when needed.- Plan long-term content strategies.- Conduct regular tech watch to identify best digital practices and innovations.- Occasionally work in the field with teams, connecting with key Radio-Canada audiences.- Use available tools to track audience engagement and content performance.

Profile sought:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent- Five (5) years of experience in journalism or equivalent- At least one (1) year of experience in a digital environment

Skills:
- Strong, confident, and positive leadership- Broad general knowledge- Solid understanding of current affairs in Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec- Strong writing skills- Excellent communication abilities- Knowledge of Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Digital Publishing Guidelines- Excellent command of French (working language)- English (an asset)- Understanding of digital trends and content formats- Familiarity with content management tools (e.g., Scoop, Picto) and audio/video editing tools such as Avid Newscutter, Dalet Plus, or Final Cut (an asset)- Experience in team coordination (an asset)- Interview
