**About Motion**
Canadian-owned and operated, Motion is Canada’s leading full-service solutions provider and has served communities across Ontario, Alberta, BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan for more than 35 years through our network of 52 locations. Our knowledgeable and caring team of experts support individuals and those who care for them by delivering the right mobility, accessibility, personal care, and daily living solutions. Products include wheelchairs, walkers, mobility scooters, power lift recliners, lifting devices, homecare and adjustable beds, bathroom safety items, and more. Whether our clients are 1 or 100, we have products to assist them in their lives.
**The Role**
We are currently adding a Mobility & Accessibility Consultant Technician to our team in Cornwall. This role will specifically work with Accessible Lifts and Elevating devices (ALE).
As a Consultant Technician, you will be managing the full cycle of a client relationship. You will not only be responsible for business development and maintaining client satisfaction, you will also work hands-on to do installations, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on lifts and elevating devices, such as ceiling lifts, stair lifts, porch lifts, ramps and railings.
While all our locations have an office space you can work in, our Sales Consultants and Technicians spend the majority of their time with clients in residential environments, hospitals, and long-term care homes.
Specifically, you will:
- **_Deliver a Motion customer experience_**. You will ensure the needs of our clients are met and that we meet our objective to make their life accessible. You will demonstrate and introduce clients to the equipment you have installed clearly and effectively.
- **_Be flexible and mobile_**. You will drive to one or more client sites in your region daily, for assessments, installations, and assembly.
- **_Drive business_**. You will do research, make cold calls, and expand our client base. You will ensure that Motion is the top choice for mobility devices in the Southwestern Ontario region by building relationships and sharing your growing expertise. You will pull from our extensive inventory of mobility devices to demonstrate the products and services to our clients and their teams.
- **_Build and maintain relationships_**. You will be a driving force behind our company, continually expanding your network and creating new relationships with clients, therapists, caregivers, and other healthcare facilities in our community. You will nurture these relationships and maintain contact, even after receiving the device as you check-in with clients and plan follow-up visits.
- **_Train and be trained_**. You will spend time with our technicians, learning the functionality of the devices, and gaining comfort with the basic mechanics. You will increase your product knowledge to demo and sell the best choices to your clients confidently.
- Has worked in sales or customer service, with a passion for client satisfaction.
- Has some experience with business development, making cold calls, and building a client base.
- Is technically minded, good at tinkering and problem solving.
- Has a background in construction, mechanical, trades work, or doing hands-on work to build or repair items.
- Must be comfortable with hand and power tools.
- Displays critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Is patient, empathetic, and compassionate; will care about our clients and their needs.
- Has a go-getter attitude and will be willing to do whatever it takes to complete the install and assist the customer (including climbing into an attic on occasion).
**Recommended Experience**
- 1-2 years sales or customer service experience
- Post-secondary education in a related field would be considered an asset
- Comfortable with technology, learning new systems (experience with Navision would be an asset), and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift 50lbs
