The Operational Risk Analyst will support the AVP in executing on PI Risk & Controls function mandate: implementing and embedding risk and controls frameworks across Personal Insurance. The Operational Risk Analyst will be accountable for the end-to-end risk events reporting process within Personal Insurance business.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Personal Insurance Risk & Controls, the incumbent will:

- Support Personal Insurance teams to ensure that Risk Event reporting framework is implemented within each business area and that any changes to the framework is clearly communicated to the Business.
- Ensure that Risk Events are proactively identified by the business and logged in iCARE within a required timeframe consistent with iCARE minimum standards;
- Work closely with the Business to ensure that risk events are thoroughly investigated to understand the root cause and to derive lessons learned;
- Ensure that the Business has in place robust action plans to address and prevent potential re-occurrence of the risk event;
- Ensure that risk events are closed in a timely fashion in accordance with iCARE minimum standards and lesson learned survey is completed prior to closing the risk event;
- Ensure that risk events documentation meets iCARE minimum standards requirement;
- Quarterly review of trends and themes in risk events and help develop risk events reporting to PI Senior Leadership Team;
- Periodically support the review of controls and assessing inherent and residual risk (RCSAs) as advised by the AVP.

What you'll bring
- Diploma or degree in business, economics, finance or other related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in the property/casualty insurance industry is considered as an asset.
- An understanding of business processes and operations is required.
- Positive relationship building and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in project management or similar organizational skills.
