St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre is the largest Long-Term Care Facility in Brantford and Brant County with 205 beds and is focused on providing high-quality care to our residents. We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk to join our organization that shares in our Mission, Vision, and Values. The A/R Clerk will be an integral member of a collaborative and inter-disciplinary team focused on delivering exemplary care to our residents.

**Job Summary**:
The A/R Clerk will perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording of all A/R data in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Including, but not limited to the following:

- Managing and maintaining resident accounts
- Ensuring all resident account payments are submitted within assigned deadlines, issuing reminders out to residents/family members of any upcoming payment deadlines.
- Resolving all discrepancies within resident accounts.
- Recording journal entries.
- Accounts receivable reconciliations, including ensuring all journal entries from Point Click Care (PCC) align with the month-end reconciliation file.
- Processing A/R import at month-end.
- Processing monthly Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for all accommodation charges for residents
- Facilitate financial aspects of resident admissions.- Educating resident and/or family members on all financial paperwork required.
- Uploading financial documents to residents PCC profile, including accommodation, phone and cable fees.
- Submitting new resident admission documentation to Forever Young Hair Salon.
- Facilitate financial aspects of resident discharges.
- Calculating and issuing all invoices and statements of former resident’s bill and Trust account.
- Preparing Summary of Accommodation Charges for all residents on an annual basis.
- Ensuring alignment of room charges(rates?) with the Ministry of Long-Term Care’s annual updates as well as issuing notifications of new rates on an annual basis.
- Answer any and all queries pertaining to resident finances.
- Managing any and all Trust Account withdrawals and deposits.
- Receiving, tracking and processing all cheques for deposit.
- Accounts Payable (A/P) backup.

This position may be required to perform additional, related job functions beyond this description.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- University degree or College diploma in accounting required.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience required, with healthcare sector-specific financial and statistical experience an asset.
- Previous experience using and processing reports using general ledger software
- Previous experience/familiarity with digital payroll systems required (Quadrant Workforce preferred).
- Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
- Strong organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Must be capable of working independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
- Multitasking skills are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with employees, leaders, patients, families, colleagues and physicians.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing values based, service oriented and collaborative partnerships.
- Demonstrated punctuality and attendance.
