Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them through check-in and check-out procedures at the front desk
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by collecting medical histories and updating records
- Assist optometrists during eye exams, including setting up equipment and providing patient instructions
- Manage electronic medical records using systems such as Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Schedule appointments, confirm upcoming visits, and reschedule as needed to optimize clinic flow
- Educate patients about optical products, lens options, and frame selections to support retail sales efforts
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, handling patient inquiries, and processing payments
- Support inventory management for optical supplies and assist with retail sales of glasses and accessories
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to health and safety protocols
- Provide compassionate care to pediatric patients and assist with pediatric-specific needs when necessary Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic is highly desirable
- Experience in optical or eyewear retail sales is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care enhances patient communication skills
- Previous front desk or patient care roles demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with pediatric patients is beneficial but not required This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills can directly impact patient well-being while providing opportunities for professional growth within the healthcare field.
