Valard is seeking **Powerline Technician Foreman (for the Underground Toronto Hydro crew).**

**Requirements**:
**CONSTRUCTION**
- Install, maintain and repair underground power lines and cables, conductors, switches, transformers, street lighting, energized low voltage Network Cables and other associated equipment.
- Install Terminations and Potheads. Wipe lead cables.
- Splice, solder and insulate conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution and transmission networks.
- Installs, maintains and repairs Network Transformers, Protectors and associated Automation equipment.
- Have knowledge and expertise in the areas of construction, maintenance, and repair of both distribution and transmission power systems, coupled with the ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Opens and closes switches and installs grounding devices to lines and equipment.
- Instruct, mentor and train junior personnel and Apprentices in duties, safe work practices, care and use of tools and equipment in a positive respectful manner.

**SAFETY**
- Knowledge of trade safety practices and procedures
- Recognize, assess, and be able to deal with potentially hazardous situations in the work environment.
- Have general knowledge in live line work, and the willingness to pursue further training as required to become proficient in this area.
- Ability to read and understand the scope of construction prints provided.
- Recognize and report any incidents, potential hazards, injuries, or concerns to your supervisor immediately.
- The ability to work at heights on wood poles, steel towers, etc. in adverse weather conditions.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Valid Journeyman certificate for Powerline Technician, Provincial or Red Seal.
- Class AZ driver’s license.
- 5 years’ experience
- Must have experience working near existing underground power lines and have strong knowledge of cable pulling/removing activities.
