We are seeking a Technical Assistant to work in the Generation Design Department. Under the direction of the GIS Group Leader,
will assist with the administration, population, maintenance, storage, acceptance, and dissemination of the associated eGIS
databases of electrical distribution facilities information and land base information. The majority of the work is to be done using the
GE Smallworld Core and Design Manager software, AutoCAD, and ESRI ArcMAP. Assists other workgroups with the production and
maintenance of distribution drawings. Confirms plant information with field checks and data acquisition. Conduct various types of
Cadastral data collection for placement and locating of distribution plant.

**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Prepare design drawings and 3D models for Hydro and Thermal Generating Station systems from marked-up drawings,

notes, sketches, or information supplied
- Prepare 2D drawing packages in accordance with Corporate and Departmental standards or specified instructions
- Prepare 3D models, and assist professional and technical staff with the creation of models
- Prepare drawings utilizing information from a previously completed designs.Provide technical review of as-built drawings
- Prepare drawings and technical documents for e-sealing by Professional Engineer
- Release, modify, issue, archive and distribute drawings and technical documents per established procedures
- Adheres and ensures the adherence of others to drafting processes, procedures, and standards
- Resolves complex issues related to EDMS, and AutoCAD
- Maintain working relationships with other departments for correlation of design data and drawing preparation
- Train junior drafting staff and review of drafting work
- Contribute to the development & documentation of departmental drafting standards and procedures
- Make occasional field trips to assemble design information and to ensure conformance with designs

**_ Qualifications:_**
- Grade 12 education plus a one year certificate from a college of recognized standing in Drafting/CAD (or equivalent), and

three years of directly related drafting experience
- Demonstrated proficiency using AutoCAD to produce design drawings for structural systems
- Demonstrated ability with 2D engineering drawing interpretation
- Demonstrated ability to draft in 3D
- Working knowledge of document management systems and various software and hardware related to drawing production and
- management
- Demonstrated ability in the assembly and interpretation of technical data
- Ability to identify factual information and ensure mutual understanding
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to carry out projects to successful completion on schedule, with minimum supervision.

**_ Salary Range_**

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $31.94 - $44.18 Hourly,
$61,202.96 - $84,652.88 Annually.
