Forestry and Parks - Lands Operations Division is responsible for administration of regulatory approvals and compliance on public lands for commercial, industrial, recreation, and agricultural sectors, under the Public Lands Act. With over 300 staff administering over 20,000 active dispositions, interacting with a complex mix of legislation, regulation, and policies, the Division is pivotal to the social, environmental, and economic needs of millions of Albertans. They also conserve our natural landscapes and wildlife habitat and offer a broad range of nature-based outdoor recreational opportunities for current and future generations.
**Role Responsibilities**:
Our dynamic team is looking for a Regional Recreation Delivery Coordinator who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of recreation management across the Eastern Slopes and beyond. Reporting to the Recreation, Education, and Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining program elements that ensure efficient and effective delivery of recreational services. This role requires a highly collaborative approach, working closely with regional and provincial Recreation Management staff, other related program areas, and external stakeholders to support the successful implementation of recreational initiatives on a multi-use land base.
As the Regional Recreation Delivery Coordinator, project management and process development are key skills and outcomes of the role. Areas of work include: supporting several spatial data management initiatives although advanced GIS and data management skills are not required, maintaining an annual cycle of work planning and reporting, education and outreach product development and working with third party trail information providers, and support and coordination of capital infrastructure delivery. You will work with internal teams, external stakeholders, and community partners to integrate regional programs with provincial outcomes, ensuring that recreation opportunities are connected, sustainable, and aligned with broader tourism objectives.

**Qualifications**:
- Required:
- The minimum recruitment for this role is a university graduation in a related field (e.g. natural resources, environmental sciences)
- Plus 4 years of experience in a related field
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered based on:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year education
Assets:
- Knowledge of Alberta's legislative and policy framework, including the _Public Lands Act_, _Trails Act_ and related policy
- Proven experience in land and resource management, with an understanding of best practices and sustainable development principles
- Expertise in project management, with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee complex initiatives related to recreation management
