**Housing Resource Worker**
Permanent Part-Time
Temporary Part-Time - Approximately 14 months
The County of Hastings has a current vacancies for a Permanent Part-Time and Temporary Part-Time Housing Resource Worker with our Community and Human Services Department. This position is responsible to provide precariously housed individuals and families support based on specific needs that will encourage the client to maintain permanent accommodation and independence.
**DUTIES**:
- Assess clients at intake for eligibility and develop a community case plan.
- Provide appropriate life skills assistance, emotional support and direction as required based on a mutually agreed upon schedule.
- Connect clients with appropriate services and make any necessary referrals.
- Remain knowledgeable and up to date on community resources and information.
- Develop and maintain client files.
- Complete daily communication log.
- Advise supervisor of any critical incidents.
- Advocate on the client’s behalf.
- Other duties as may be required from time to time
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Social Services.
- Two years’ experience working front line in a non-institutional setting.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, families, the public and professional organizations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a broad based understanding of people with disabilities, addictions and mental health issues.
- Extensive knowledge of existing resources in geographically assigned areas.
- Must possess a current valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation.
**HOURS OF WORK**: Maximum 28 hours per week and as per Article 19 of the Collective Agreement
**WAGE RANGE**: $28.16-$32.92/hour
