**Job Overview**
**Duties**
- Operate and drive heavy trucks to transport freight across designated routes.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation.
- Utilize forklift operation as necessary for loading/unloading freight.
- Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on the truck as needed.
**Experience**
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and regulations.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic automotive repair is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety.
