**About Us**:Les Femmes Michif Otipemisiwak/Women of the Métis Nation (LFMO) speaks as the national and international voice for Métis women across the Motherland. LFMO aims to consult, promote and represent the personal, spiritual, social, cultural, political and economic interests and aspirations of women, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people of the Métis Nation.
**Position Overview**:The Women and Gender Equality Initiatives Manager will play a key role in developing, implementing, and managing initiatives and strategies aimed at advancing gender equality within our organization and the broader community. This position will involve working closely with various stakeholders, including community members, partner organizations, and internal teams, to ensure effective initiative delivery and impact.
- **Key Responsibilities**:_
**Program Development and Management**:
- Under the direction of the LFMO senior staff and president, the WAGE Initiatives Manager is primarily responsible to design, implement, and oversee initiatives focused on gender equality and the empowerment of women and gender-diverse individuals.
- Ensure initiaties are aligned with the organization’s mission, goals, and community needs.
**Strategic Planning**:
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans and goals for gender equality initiatives.
- Monitor progress towards objectives and adjust strategies as needed to meet targets.
**Advocacy and Outreach**:
- Represent the organization at relevant meetings, conferences, and community events.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and partner organizations to advance gender equality efforts.
**Resource and Budget Management**:
- Assist in identifying funding opportunities and preparing grant proposals to support gender equality initiatives.
**Research and Reporting**:
- Conduct research on gender-related issues to inform program development and advocacy strategies.
- Prepare and present reports on initiative outcomes, challenges, and successes to stakeholders and funders.
**Capacity Building**:
- Provide training and support to staff, volunteers, and community members on gender equality issues and best practices.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity and respect within the organization and in community interactions.
**Policy Development**:
- Support the development and implementation of organizational policies that promote gender equality and address systemic barriers.
- Stay informed about relevant policies, legislation, and trends impacting gender equality.
- **Essential Qualifications**:_
- Bachelor's Degree in Gender Studies or Women’s Studies, Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Sociology (with a focus on gender, inequality, or social justice), Political Science (with an emphasis on gender, policy, or human rights), Human Rights or International Relations

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
